EA staff "revising" their history on Wikipedia

wiki logoOver on Shacknews, it’s been reported that someone within EA is trying to deliberately alter EA’s Wikipedia page, especially to down play the company’s faults and remove references to the company’s founder, Trip Hawkins. The person in question was revealed using a tool called the Wikipedia Scanner a few days ago.

Most of the changes in question happened on November 20, 2006, when information regarding the company’s founder was removed from the article along with sections removed detailing the infamous EA spouse debacle. Since then, the information has been restored.

The same user on April 5, 2007 removed mention of Trip Hawkins in the company’s history page and emphasized Larry Probst’s name instead, who is the current chairman of the company.

So is the work by someone who is just trying to clear the company’s name? Or is there some personal agenda at work here? You decide.
