John Romero meets Square Enix to ‘get a deal done’

The id co-founder looking to "get a deal done."

John Romero, currently of Loot Drop and known famously in the game industry as a co-founder of id Software, is apparently looking to strike a deal with Square Enix.

The news came this past Friday, when Romero made a vague post on his Facebook wall about meeting with the company.

“Now let’s get a deal done. — at Square Enix,” read Romero’s update, which also located him at the city where Square Enix North America is based, El Segundo, CA.

It is unknown exactly what the deal is that Romero is looking to broker with the publisher. Loot Drop is a mobile publisher, but members on NeoGAF have begun speculating that Romero could possibly be looking to develop a new title in the Eidos-published properties developed by Romero’s other former studio, Ion Storm.
